Energy Assistance
Lake Region Electric participates in the Energy Assistance for South Dakotans program. Families and individuals needing financial assistance with home heating costs are encouraged to participate in the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP). The program provides assistance to low income households to pay their home heating bills.
To be eligible, a household's total gross income may not exceed maximum income guidelines and the household must be responsible for paying home heating costs. Energy assistance payments are made to energy suppliers.
